Art encourages the children to be creative and independent in how they approach their work. Areas such as painting, printing, drawing, textiles and clay are taught, using stimuli from local and international artists. Visiting illustrators encourage the children to develop skills in observation, drawing and painting techniques.
Opportunities are also given for children to appreciate and evaluate the work of other artists both traditional and contemporary.
